Noteworthy

  • A big West Coast match up went Oregon State’s way as they took 2 of 3 from Stanford in Corvallis, OR. As such the 2 Pac 12 conference mates swapped spots as Oregon State is your new #2.
  • Duke got the best of in state rival North Carolina as the Devil’s drop the Tar Heels at home. Duke re-entered the top 10 and North Carolina dropped out of the top 5. The ACC has 4 teams in the top 10, leading the nation.
  • In other Florida team news Stetson continues to climb having just swept Florida Gulf Coast. Coincidentally FGCU may have played themselves out of the tournament have been swept in back-to-back series with a mid-week loss to Miami in between. South Florida dropped out of the rankings after losing a mid-week game to Florida followed by a loss to Wichita State. The Bulls did bounce back with a win but were unable to secure the series before the travel curfew kicked into effect on Sunday.

FSU in other polls

Florida State also climbed 2 spots to 14 in Baseball America’s poll.

The ‘Noles also moved up 3 spots to 11 in the NCAA Coaches’ poll.

The Seminoles end the regular season this weekend by hosting NC State. While FSU cannot track down either the Wolfpack or Clemson they can jump ahead of Louisville as they are 1 game behind the Cardinals. It might be tough capture a national seed with the 6th best record in the conference and it’s doubtful the ACC will grab more than 4 national seeds.
