Last week, Florida State was supposed to dominate FCS opponent Samford. Not only did the ‘Nole fail to cover the spread of 35, the ‘Noles didn’t take the lead until 4 minutes remaining in the game. Florida State got the win but didn’t exactly instill warm fuzzy confidence in the ‘Nole faithful.
It’s clear that Taggart inherited talent but also a long laundry list of problems. Florida State fans should brace themselves for a rebuilding year. The first game was an emotional let down, the second game was on short rest against a talented FCS QB. Now, the ‘Noles have to travel to a relatively hostile environment. Hey, it can get loud in the dome.
We’ve had two weeks to see all the issues with this team. The offense can’t score in the red-zone, has numerous negative plays, and can’t block at the line of scrimmage. The defense starts slow and allows too many big chunk plays. If Florida State wants to make a bowl game, a win today is almost a must. If the ‘Noles can’t show progress in each week, regardless of outcome, a long rebuilding year might turn into 2 or 3.

Other Games:
There’s some great games after the ‘Noles play. Here’s a small taste of your Saturday slate starting at 3:30pm. Before you start watching all the other ball, make sure you know which team you want to fail (FYI, you always want Miami to lose on the road to Toledo, always). You can check out the rest of the schedule of what you should watch when here.
