Game Coverage: Depth Chart Update, Injury Update, Uniform Update, Hidden History: Samford, Staff Predictions

After checking out the spread and the staff predictions, this should NOT be a close game. This is usually the type of contest where we talk about “get the starters out early, rest guys and get them healthy, play some walk-ons.” But after last week’s debacle and the ineptitude on offense and finishing drives, look for Willie Taggart to keep the starters in for a while. There’s clearly A LOT to work on.

But hey, there’s no reason to jump ship. Florida State’s inability to score in the red zone should not be expected often for a Taggart coached offense. The staff raved about how well the offense played during fall camp. Perhaps the Virginia Tech game was a one-off. Or perhaps nerves, expectations, and lack of live snaps, got the better of a new coach installing a new system. A game against an undermanned opponent might be exactly what the ‘Noles need to gain some confidence and get the season back on track.
