Football:

Alonzo Hampton is out as special teams coordinator; no surprise after FSU’s special teams ranked 95th in the country in 2018. Unacceptable.

How many FSU title games are on this list of great national championship games of all-time? A few.

The tickets for Monday’s national championship are going cheap. Speaking of the Title game Clemson won’t get Dexter Lawrence back for the title game.

Not everyone is viewing Urban Meyer’s swan song through rose-colored glasses.

Recruiting:

Six Seminole commitments (Akeem Dent, Brendan Gant, Travis Jay, Kalen Deloach, Jaleel Mcrae, & Raymond Woodie III) were in action last night.

FSU’s top rated commitment 5-star Akeem Dent says that his recruitment is over.

FSU was expected to get a verbal commitment from Arjei Henderson last night but he shockingly chose Florida.

It’s stock up for FSU safety commitment Nick Cross from the All-American Bowl.

Overall the defensive back groups had solid days, with a few nice plays and a few missed assignments that are to be expected in the first practice. The one prospect who was most consistently impressive, however, was Cross, a Florida State commit who has yet to sign his letter of intent. Cross has a sturdy frame that looks plenty capable of coming up in run support, but what caught our attention on Tuesday was how sticky he was in coverage and how well he defended the pass.

Three-star offensive lineman Kamaar Bell will be officially visiting FSU on this weekend:

The Future 50 combine features some of the top 2020 & 2021 recruits in the country and quite a few FSU targets were at the event.

Other Sports:

Women’s Basketball wrapped up a thrilling win over UVA last night:

Hopefully the men can follow suit.

Alumni:

Derwin James has been named ProFootballFocus’ Defensive Rookie of The Year.

After an impressive pre-season with the Steelers; Matthew Thomas will now join the Baltimore Ravens:

Kermit Whitfield also signed a futures contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.
