No. 13 FSU vs. Miami: How to watch, preview, game thread

The Seminoles host the Hurricanes for their ACC home opener.

NCAA Basketball: Winthrop at Florida State Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports

After dropping their ACC opener to Virginia over the weekend, the No. 13 Florida State basketball team looks to bounce back against Miami in a 9pm tip tonight at the Tucker Center. The game will be broadcast on regional ACC affiliates (FOX Sports Sun in Tallahassee). Vegas opened with FSU as a 10.5-point favorite and KenPom predicts a 10-point win for the Seminoles.

Finishing a weak out of conference slate at 8-4, the Hurricanes have begun ACC play with losses to N.C. State and Louisville. As Matt previously mentioned, 5’7” point guard Chris Lykes’ ability to get into the paint off the dribble drive will likely frustrate Seminole fans. Junior guard Dejan Vasiljevic is a threat from deep, shooting 44.1% from three on the season. The Hurricanes have struggled to rebound on both ends of the floor, due in part to the loss of forward Dewan Hernandez who was ruled ineligible by the NCAA and has not played this season. The ‘Canes 6-7 man rotation should struggle to keep up with FSU’s depth. Coach Jim Larranaga has only used bench players for 21.9% of available minutes so far this season, good for 340th out of the 353 teams in the nation (KenPom).
