The future is bright on the interior of the offensive line

Football:

FSU’s offensive line is not good (not even below average), but they’re much better than last year, and according to PFF, it’s because their best player is true freshman Dontae Lucas:

Keep recruiting and developing guys like Dontae Lucas, & the turnaround might not take as long as we previously thought.

It’s dual death valley trips for FSU and Florida this weekend; both teams are big underdogs in their respective match-ups.

Many FSU fans expected left tackle Jauan Williams to return at some point this year, but no one expected both him and Cole Minshew to be ready for football on Saturday.

FSU being down hasn’t changed what this rivalry means to Clemson or Dabo Swinney.

Speaking of Dabo, he was pretty upset when asked about Trevor Lawrence’s reported injury.

This isn’t the team that lost 59-10 last year in Doak; Willie Taggart expects improvement.

This is a gargantuan weekend in college football with multiple ranked teams playing each other in playoff deciding games; Separation Saturday is here.

The Nolecast answered listener questioners; including a really good one on what scenario (besides a victory over Clemson) would have FSU in the top 25 this year.

Recruiting:

With multiple offensive tackles graduating this year, FSU still needs to hit the JUCO trail hard to add more grown man bodies to the position. (VIP)

Georgia Military offensive lineman Trevor Reid is the No. 1 ranked JUCO OT in the country by 247Sports. The 6-foot-5, 295-pound pass blocker didn’t start playing football until his sophomore year in high school. He went to Georgia Military out of high school and is now considered the No. 1 ranked JUCO OT in the country. Reid committed to Louisville over the summer and has three years to play two.

CB Demorie Tate hasn’t been tested often this year, so they decided to throw him the ball on offense and he went 95 yards. Stud.

Other Sports:

FSU is projected to finish 5th in the ACC; Trent Forrest was named to the pre-season second team all-ACC:

That’s night straight wins for FSU Soccer as the Lady Noles took down No. 20 Virginia Tech in double overtime. Next up is top-ranked Virginia in Tallahassee on Sunday at 1:00pm; for those of us not in Tallahassee the game will be televised on the ACC Network.

Alumni:

From second round pick to starter, Dwayne Bacon is ready to take the reigns for the Hornets.

Malik Beasley reportedly turned down a 3 year, 30 million dollar extension from the Nuggets. His agent likely knows that a player with his athleticism that can shoot the 3 is going to get much more than that on the open market. If the Nuggets want to keep him they’ll have to pay more.
