Alex Hornibrook took a few minutes after Florida State’s win over the Syracuse Orange to discuss many things, including his play, the WildCam, and some newcomers like freshman Darius Washington.
Hornibrook finished the game completing 15 of 26 passes for 196 yards, a 7.5 yards per attempt average, with no touchdowns but also no interceptions.
He also spoke about the fortuitous nature of the triple pass play that ended up in Tamorrion Terry’s hands and culminated in a 54 yard play that set up the Seminoles in striking distance of another score. When it comes to the WildCam, Hornibrook praised Cam Akers for his ability to keep the chains moving, and also his ability to throw the ball:
He can throw it, like, 60 or more yards, um, but sometimes when we’re doing warmups he’ll come in with the quarterbacks and throw some and he throws pretty well. He looks better than a lotta people that play quarterback.
