Monday morning update:

The Vegas Insider consensus spread has FSU as a 5.5-point favorite.

Florida State, off the back off a big homecoming win vs. Syracuse, will open the week against favorites against Miami (of Florida, not Ohio).

Miami has had a frustrating start to the Manny Diaz era, failing to capitalize on an impressive season-opening impressive loss. They’ve struggled to finish games, either falling hilariously short (sometimes literally, like against Georgia Tech) or just straight up looking incompetent.

Right now, the Seminoles are getting 5.5 points to 6.5, though one book has them as one-point favorites.

The over/under is hovering around 49-50, which makes sense as both teams are averaging about the same amount per game (Florida State sits at 29.4, while Miami is registering 26.8). The defense for both teams has been a little bit more stringent lately, but the offense has faltered for, mainly due to lackluster offensive lines.

The games between these two schools have had their fair amount of ridiculousness, especially lately, from blocked extra points to terrible double-pass calls, so it’s fair to say that the level for hilarity is going to be high in Doak Campbell on Saturday.
