Football:
Florida State had its last practice of the bye week on Wednesday, taking three days off before starting Clemson preparations.
“I love the effort that our guys gave,” Taggart said. “I love the competitiveness that they came with, and the focus that they had to get better. They were really focused on what we were trying to get accomplished. That made it a good practice.”
“I think the opponent that we’re playing has something to do with it, but I also think the growth of our football team and the success we’ve had over the last couple weeks has made a difference.”
Big shout out to the Young Pope for starting off the semester strong:

Here’s a great (I assume, because I am broke) article on Carlos Becker III from The Athletic, about (again, I think) his perseverance in finding the field for Florida State.
Former Florida State and current Carolina Panthers defensive end Brian Burns was named as PFF’s Defensive Rookie of the Month.
Basketball:
Jonathan Isaac, who was drafted No. 6 overall in 2017 by Orlando, is reportedly being prioritized by the Magic and being kept out of trade talks. Isaac was also named as the Magic’s breakout candidate by ESPN.
Other Sports:
Sign me up for a buddy cop movie starring John Pak and Frida Kinhult, Florida State’s two phenom golfers who have a pretty good camaraderie on and off the green.
Florida State cross country athletes Erin Phelps and Yasmine Abbes were named ACC Women’s Performer and Freshman Performer of the Week, respectively.
The Seminoles’ beach volleyball team announced its 2019 fall schedule on Wednesday.
