Alex Hornibrook spoke to the media after FSU’s disappointing loss to rival Miami about his performance, early penalties, and how the team moves on from the loss.

Hornibrook finished then game completing 17 of 24 passes for 135 yards, a mere 5.6 yards per attempt, with one touchdown pass and one interception. The QB was also sacked a program record 9 times, which he spoke on in his interview.

He also spoke about the use of the WildCam and how he thought it was a productive part of the offense on Saturday even though Akers couldn’t practice the package most of the week.

Hornibrook’s main focus in his interview was correcting the mistakes and not hanging their heads on the loss. Alex spoke on how the pre-snap penalties are correctable and they have to be eliminated to win ball games.

The grad transfer still thinks this is a good football team, but they just didn’t execute against the ‘Canes. When asked how much Miami’s defense had to do with the offensive struggles, Hornibrook made it a point that the struggles were caused by self-inflicted wounds.
