Bracketology projections for FSU basketball show consistency across several outlets

Yeah, these will work.

NCAA Basketball: Louisville at Florida State Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports

Ten conference games are now in the books for Florida State hoops, while another eight remain. That’s a lot of basketball left to be played, but the Seminoles (18-5, 6-4) are close to having their ticket punched to the NCAA Tournament. And presently, there’s a pretty strong consensus with FSU’s seeding in the dance.

ESPN, CBS, and SB Nation all have the ’Noles as a 6-seed, which is also where the Seminoles average out across 108 predictions surveyed by Bracket Matrix. Joe Lunardi and ESPN have Florida State opening in Hartford against 11-seed Minnesota, while Jerry Palm and CBS see the ’Noles beginning play in Jacksonville against 11-seed Oklahoma. Possible second-round matchups in those forecasts would likely pit FSU against either Marquette or Houston, respectively, both 3-seeds.

Just how far Florida State could still ascend or descend in the tourney remains to be seen. The highest draws for the Seminoles in Bracket Matrix are as a 4-seed, the lowest as an 8-seed.
