Deondre Francois dismissed from Florida State football team

12’s time in Tallahassee is over.

NCAA Football: Clemson at Florida State Glenn Beil-USA TODAY Sports

When Deondre Francois announced on Twitter that he was coming back to Florida State, despite reports to the contrary many assumed that would mean another year with him as FSU’s signal caller, but that is no longer the case.

Last night, head coach Willie Taggart informed Francois that he was no longer a member of FSU’s Football Program; this is his statement:

Last night, I informed Deondre Francois that he is no longer a member of the Florida State football program. As we build a new culture and foundation for FSU Football, we have high expectations for all of our student-athletes and we will not shy away from those high standards of conduct. We are moving forward as a program.

You might be confused as to the timing of the dismissal, but yesterday there were reports on Twitter of yet another domestic incident (this time including a video) involving his girlfriend:

With Francois gone immediately, FSU has two scholarship quarterbacks remaining, James Blackman & recent Louisiville transfer Jordan Travis.
