After months of prognosticating, the day has arrived. It’s finally Selection Sunday, when we’ll learn the NCAA Tournament seed, destination, and opponent of the Seminoles’ No. 12 hoops team.
Now, if you’ve kept up with our oft-updated piece about Florida State’s postseason prospects, none of this will come as news to you. We understand. Not everyone has that kind of time, due to distractions like friends, family, and other lesser pursuits. That’s okay. We all make mistakes.
But the tourney is here, so it’s time to set the prodigal aside and focus on what’s really important: FSU basketball. Let’s start with something you’ve all bandied about in the comments sections for weeks: how fun is it not to be agonizing over if the ’Noles will even make the big dance or not?
The Seminoles have been a lock for quite some time, and it’s now apparent that Florida State will not just qualify for the tourney, but enter as an elite seed. While there are still games to be played today that will affect FSU’s seeding, the ’Noles look primed for either a 3-seed or a 4-seed. FSU appears destined for the West regional, due to so many elite programs in the southeast.
The official announcement will be made this evening, on CBS, at 6 pm.
