FSU women’s basketball faces Bucknell in the NCAA Tournament

FSU has a 15 game win streak in first round NCAA Tournament games.

(5) Florida State (23-8) will play (12) Bucknell (28-5) today at 4pm in Charlotte, NC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles reached the tournament as an at-large selection while the Bison reached the tournament by winning the Patriot League championship.

Bucknell ranks 38th in the RPI. They are 28th nationally in offensive points per possession (1.029). The Bison are 20th nationally in defensive points per possession (.802).

Bucknell is a fairly deep team. The Bison will comfortably go eight deep and at times will play as many as 10 or 11 players.

The Bison feature a balanced attack with five players averaging between eight and thirteen points a game. Bucknell is led by 6’2 forward Kaitlyn Slagus. This game will be a matchup of FSU’s athleticism against BU’s offensive execution.

The game is scheduled to tip at 4pm today. It will be broadcast on ESPN2. The winner will face the winner of the (4) South Carolina/ (13) Belmont game in the second round.
