4-seed FSU vs. 1-seed Gonzaga: How to watch, preview, point spread, game thread

Sweet or sour?

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-West Regional-Florida State vs Gonzaga Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Finally: game day. After a successful beginning to the 2019 NCAA Tournament that saw Florida State dispatch of 13-seed Vermont and 12-seed Murray State, the Seminoles have moved on to a different venue, as well as another level of opponent.

The ’Noles will face the 1-seed Gonzaga Bulldogs to commence Sweet Sixteen play tonight, with the game tipping at 7:09 ET on CBS. This is a rematch of last year’s West semifinal that saw the ’Noles defeat the Zags handily. If you’ve kept up with our coverage throughout the week, you know that FSU forward Phil Cofer will remain out, after the passing of his father, and while Leonard Hamilton was optimistic David Nichols would return earlier this week, he downgraded the reserve point guard to “doubtful at best” when speaking to the media in Anaheim.

Our Michael Rogner has not only scouted the Zags, he’s corresponded with our Gonzaga sister site for a Q&A about this matchup. And if you’re not reading Rog’s FSU hoops coverage, you need to seriously reevaluate your life decisions. That’s your preview. Read it. Know it. Tell your friends.

The point-spread for this game opened with the Bulldogs as a 7-point favorite, and it hasn’t moved much. But the line has increased a touch, as the Zags are now favored by 7.5 at most services.

As always, the comments section below will function as our game thread for this game. And since this could be the last time I write one of these for this basketball season:
