The postseason is finally here for Florida State hoops, and that begins with the ACC Tournament in Charlotte. The conference's worst teams, those that finished 10th-15th, begin play on Tuesday. The game that most affected the Seminoles was 12th-place Miami against 13th-place Wake Forest, a contest won by the Hurricanes. The ’Canes were then pounded by 5th-place Virginia Tech on Wednesday, so the Hokies advanced to play the 4th-place ’Noles on Thursday at 2:30 pm.
Florida State authored its second overtime win over VT, and having survived that quarterfinal, FSU now moves on to a semifinal vs. top-seeded Virginia on Friday at 7 pm. The Seminoles lost their only matchup with the Cavaliers this season in the teams’ ACC opener.
The championship game will take place on Saturday night at 8:30 pm. The top two teams on the other side of the bracket are 2nd-place North Carolina and 3rd-place Duke.
Six different teams have won the ACC Tournament over the last seven years:
- 2012: Florida State
- 2013: Miami
- 2014: Virginia
- 2015: Notre Dame
- 2016: North Carolina
- 2017: Duke
- 2018: Virginia
