Noteworthy

  • The PAC-12 is really starting to heat up. With four teams in the top 10 (as many as the SEC) next week will be a battle between No. 1 and No. 2 as Stanford hosts UCLA. The week after that sets up for another top 10 match up as Arizona State hosts Oregon State.
  • Connecticut climbs into the polls by taking two of three at UCF. The Huskies now have series wins at UCF, Houston and a neutral site win against Louisville. Mid-April’s match up against No. 11 East Carolina could be a good one.
  • Florida State certainly had a rough week but it could have been worse. Illinois was ranked for the first time this year and responded by losing a mid-week to Indiana State and then getting swept by Iowa. The only game the Illini scored more than one run in this week they gave up four.
