As Florida State’s season continues to trend downward the poor season’s results come as a surprise to some. The reason behind this is the success of the program in recent years has far exceeded the dedication put in by the head coach, who has been working part-time for the better part of a decade. It was only a matter of time that effort and talent acquired by the semi-retired skipper reared it’s ugly head of the field.
The blame does not solely fall at the heels of the head coach, an indifferent administration who is content with status quo is also at fault. Forty wins a season was sufficient because they were underpaying a coach who was under performing, not only with his on-field responsibilities but with off the field as well. Florida State is lagging behind in their facilities as there has not been any major renovations to the stadium, aside from a new scoreboard, in twenty years.
The fate of the ‘Noles season is pretty reliant on the outcome of this series with Clemson. A series loss drops FSU even further under .500 in conference play making their chances at a regional bid more difficult with tough games in the future.
