Florida State football, recruiting news: Seminoles didn’t use playbook during spring

Plus, an interview with new quarterback Alex Hornibrook

NCAA Football: Clemson at Florida State Melina Myers-USA TODAY Sports

Football:

During a stop in Jacksonville on Tuesday, Florida State head coach Willie Taggart spoke on the Seminoles’ new approach to play calling this spring:

Though it might strike as odd, it’s not a huge shock: new offensive coordinator Kendal Briles didn’t use play sheets at FAU or Houston either, the reasoning being that taking the time to look at them was pre-snap time being wasted.

Taggart also spoke on FSU’s approach to its offensive gameplan in the spring game:

Here’s a good interview with quarterback Alex Hornibrook, recent grad transfer from Wisconsin.

It’s the offseason, so let’s either get mad at some random on The Paul Finebaum Show saying South Carolina is the hardest game on Clemson’s schedule or cry and nod in agreement:

Have you checked Tomahawk Nation’s own Florida State mock NFL draft tracker today? Oh, you have, because you have a debilitating need to constantly consume Florida State-related content? Well, why not check it again? Maybe somebody left a new comment!

Basketball:

Florida State men’s basketball video coordinator Chase Goldstein was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2019 Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team, comprised of (you guessed it), 30 of the top college basketball coaches under the age of 30.

Take two minutes out of your day to watch incoming four-star forward Patrick Williams’ hooptape and thank me later.

The Seminoles got graded out as the second-highest team in the ACC behind Virginia (and Duke got a C, so ha.)

Other Sports:

Florida State men’s tennis, men’s golf and women’s golf all kick off ACC Championship play today.
