After a week with three losses, including a home series loss to Boston College, the ‘Noles dropped out of the ranking for the first time all season. Florida State is currently in a major slump due to an inexperienced lineup, poor recruiting and a coach who has difficulty connecting with players.
In his Sunday’s post game press conference Mike Martin put the majority of the blame on the players and their effort, he also talked tough about making personnel changes moving forward. He didn’t waste any time as tonight marks J.C. Flowers first start of his career. The junior has made eight relief appearances this season and his longest outing was two very successful innings against Virginia Tech. The smart play is that he would be on a very limited pitch count and that he should not face a Dolphin’s lineup more than once tonight before giving way to another reliever.
