The rather forgettable regular season has finally concluded for Florida State baseball. Now the Seminoles (35-20, 17-13) will see if they can right the ship and once again get hot in time for the ACC Tournament, which begins on Tuesday in Durham, North Carolina.
The ’Noles have won the last two conference tourneys, in 2017 and 2018, as well as in 2015. If FSU is to pull off the three-peat, it’ll begin in pool play. The Seminoles enter as the 6-seed, and are matched up in Pool C with 3-seed NC State and 10-seed Wake Forest. This season, Florida State went 1-2 against the Wolfpack and 2-1 against the Demon Deacons. All things considered, this really isn't too bad of a draw for the ’Noles.
The complete pool breakdown looks like this:
- POOL A – No. 1 Louisville, No. 8 Clemson, No. 12 Boston College
- POOL B – No. 2 Georgia Tech, No. 7 Duke, No. 11 Notre Dame
- POOL C – No. 3 NC State, No. 6 Florida State, No. 10 Wake Forest
- POOL D – No. 4 Miami, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 9 Virginia
The winner of each pool will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, with the final taking place on Sunday. The actual schedule will be released tomorrow.
