The Seminoles bring in an additional big

Florida State basketball landed a much-needed commitment from Ole Miss grad transfer Dominik Olejniczak. The 7-foot-0, 260-pound center will provide some replacement size after the Seminoles’ 7-foot-4 center Christ Koumadje graduated and 6-foot-10 forward Mfiondu Kabengele declared for the NBA draft.

Olejniczak announced his commitment on Instagram on Sunday choosing the Seminoles over UNC Charlotte:

In the 2018-19 season, he started 22 of 33 games averaging 5.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. He also led the team with 30 blocked shots.

Olejniczak is a native of Torun, Poland and started his college career at Drake before transferring to Ole Miss after one season with the Bulldogs. In 2018-19, Olejniczak helped the Rebels reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in four years.

He will join top JUCO combo guard RayQuan Evans who committed to Florida State back in mid-April.

Olejniczak has one year of eligibility left and will be available immediately.
