Florida State baseball has been heating up at the right time, as the Seminoles have won three of their last four games, and seven of their last 10. And while the ’Noles held steady in the rankings this week, their postseason seed projection has risen.
Last week, Baseball America had FSU as a 3-seed in the Baton Rouge regional, but this time around, the Seminoles are up to a 2-seed, headed for Nashville. That venue would provide a difficult test in No. 2 national-seed and host Vanderbilt, with the 3 and 4 seeds being Liberty and Alabama State, respectively.
Miami remains one of the last regional hosts, at No. 15 of 16, with the ACC’s Louisville (No. 5), Georgia Tech (No. 9), and No. 11 North Carolina also earning host duties. The other ACC schools in the field: NC State, Duke, and Clemson, although both the Blue Devils and Tigers are listed as “last four in” squads. UF is currently in the “last four out” category.
