Florida State football, recruiting news: Four-star running back ready to commit

FSU takes on Michigan in the winner’s bracket of the CWS

Recruiting:

Four-star running Jaylan Knighton is one of FSU’s top targets and he’s ready to decide.

An important portion of his time at FSU was his talk with head coach Willie Taggart. The two spoke on things that would matter if Knighton were to join him in Tallahassee.

“It’s just good talking with coach Taggart. We just talk about me coming here, me knowing what we’ll get done. Different things, school, football, things you could do out of school, what I’m majoring in, things like that.”

Now with another Florida State visit in the books, Knighton has made a change in his decision timeline. A change that he says will have him committing to a school within a week or so.

“When I get back from Ohio State next week,” he said of when he is committing.

FSU is in a good position here.

FSU is climbing with three-star defensive end Chris Jones; his HC has a great relationship with TE coach Telly Lockette:

2021 defensive tackle Christopher Thomas was surprised by his FSU offer.

Football:

Derrick Brooks is proud of how far Keyshawn Helton has come in the short amount of time he’s been on campus.

The ACC Network is coming; August 22nd will be here before you know it.

Baseball:

Drew Parrish was masterful, absolutely phenomenal. Can CJ Van Eyk follow suit vs. Michigan? Hopefully they’ll have someone different behind the plate.

Alumni:

75 days from FSU Football which means that No. 76 on the countdown dropped yesterday, hello Peter Tom Willis.

Brooks Koepka almost did it again but Gary Woodland was able to hold off the Seminoles’ furious charge tow in the U.S. Open.

Koepka is the only player in tour history to shoot four rounds in the 60s and not win the Open because of it.
