Florida State football, recruiting news: FSU commits get a boost in new rankings

Plus, a familiar face is headed to the ACC Network

Recruiting:

2020 three-star receiver Kaleb Long of Tampa Chamberlin visited Florida State on Wednesday on an unofficial visit.

FSU offered 2021 cornerback Jordan Young of Tampa Jesuit on Wednesday, following a visit with the coaching staff. He’s currently unranked, but fields an additional offer rom Alabama.

The latest Rivals 250 for the 2020 recruiting class is out, and some of the big jumpers were wide receiver (and small forward) commit Malachi Wideman (67 spots to No. 93, cornerback Jalen Harrell (43 spots to 110), and linebacker Stephen Dix (not ranked to No. 186).

Football:

Former Florida State, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders quarterback EJ Manuel is headed to your television provider (well, assuming it’s a part of your plan if you still have cable) this fall, as part of the ACC Network:

Former Seminole and Tampa Bay Buccaneer Javien Elliot is signing with the Carolina Panthers.

Baseball:

On the first day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Bryand Rincher, Jhevaughn Matherson, Michael Timpson Jr. and Andre Ewers set a school record in the 4x100, running a 38.43 in heat two to advance to Friday’s finals.
