FSU linebacker Dontavious Jackson is now the fifth Seminole to be named to an award watch list this preseason, and the second defender. He joins running back Cam Akers (Walker, Maxwell), wide receiver Tamorrion Terry (Biletnikoff), tight end Tre’ McKitty (Mackey), and defensive tackle Marvin Wilson (Bednarik).
The rising senior started ten games last year and recorded 75 tackles, including seven for a loss. Jackson also added one sack, one quarterback hurry, one forced fumble, and three passes defensed and an interception. He was second on the team in tackles last year, but was the first ’Nole since 2001 with multiple 14-tackle games.
If Jackson wins the award he would be the first Seminole to do so since Marvin Jones in 1992.
