Florida State punter under investigation in DUI case

Logan Tyler implicated in the Aug. 23 report

NCAA Football: Florida State at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Florida State senior punter Logan Tyler is under investigation for a DUI in August, Tomahawk Nation can confirm.

Tyler’s suspension was initially announced before FSU’s game against Louisiana-Monroe on Sep. 7, and was confirmed as an “indefinite suspension” during head coach Willie Taggart’s press conference on Monday.

Per an incident report obtained by Tomahawk Nation via a public records request, Tyler is being investigated for an Aug. 22 incident, labeled as a DUI.

All personal information in the report, including names, was redacted, though the Tallahassee Democrat is reporting that police arrived on-scene to a crash at 2:08 a.m., where they found a man unconscious due to either intoxication or his injuries.

The victim in the incident report is listed as a business, not an individual.

Tyler has started every game since arriving on campus, holding school records in several categories, including most punt yards in a season, most punt yards in a game and most punts taken in a season.

Sophomore punter Tommy Martin, who performed admirably in his first start last week, will continue to handle primary punting duties.

Tomahawk Nation will update this article as more information becomes available.
