Weather: It’s not perfect football weather yet in Charlottesville. But it’s world’s better than the sweat box Doak was the last two weekends. Temperature will be around 78 at kick off, dropping to around 72 by the end of the game. The chance of showers is 47% towards the end of the game. Weather delays are a possibility. Winds SSW at 5 MPH.

The Spread: Florida State opened as a 7 point do and the line still has UVA favored by 7 or 7.5. See the rest of your college football spreads here.

From Last week’s Gameday Central:

If this team follows last year’s script, FSU will struggle into the fourth quarter with ULM before needing late game heroics to pull out a win (remember Samford? Woof). Florida State has to work on shrugging off those 2018 ghosts and forget that devastating loss to Boise. If Florida State is going to get better and move forward, it will start against an over-matched ULM team. Can Florida State flip the script?

Welp, so much for that. Pure luck saved Florida State from suffering one of the worst losses in program history. Apparently, ‘Nole fans are in for FSU 2018! Part Deux (this is a movie joke). The mantra after the Boise State game was that one game would not define Florida State. However, after the ULM debacle, we can define this defense: BROKEN.

But wait, plot twist! Florida State has hired Jim Leavitt to save the day! Leavitt is a great defensive mind. However, I wouldn’t put too much faith in him fixing the defense in 4 days with his limited role as analyst. Taggart is clearly willing to make changes and wants to fix this parody of a program FSU has become. But it’s unlikely we see any dividends against a well coached UVA team that has a dynamic quarterback. It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Hang on tight.
