’Noles in the NFL: Championship Sunday

Two former Seminoles are headed to the Super Bowl.

The only team with former Seminoles on the roster headed into Championship Sunday was fittingly the team that has adopted Florida State’s War Chant.

After an exciting matchup against the TennesseeTitans, Derrick Nnadi and Cameron Erving are headed to play in the biggest game of their lives:

Nnadi would start the game as it was Pro Bowler Chris Jones’ first game back from injury:

Although Jones did his part to get his fellow defensive linemen, Nnadi included, fired up before the game:

Nnadi anchored the line, and while his stats don’t jump out, which can often be the case for defensive tackles, his impact stretches way more than the single tackle he recorded would suggest.

The Chiefs defense held Derrick Henry, who had 588 yards rushing in these playoffs, to just 69 yards on 19 carries, helping Kansas City to the Super Bowl.

Following the game, Nnadi was still in disbelief:

But the celebration won’t last long. The second-year pro is turning his attention towards the big one:

As for Erving, he was active, but serves in a back up role along the Chiefs’ offensive line. Regardless, he’s headed to Miami for Super Bowl LIV all the same. Oh, and he’s undefeated in Miami...
