Update: As expected, Florida State held steady in each poll, remaining at No. 5 in the AP and No. 6 in the Coaches.
This past week of college basketball contrasted greatly with the one before it. Two weeks ago, chaos reigned, as half of the top-10 teams lost at least one game. This time around, not a single top-10 squad lost, so don’t expect much shuffling for No. 5 Florida State and the rest of those with single digits by their names.
The highest ranked team to suffer a loss was No. 11 Michigan State, and that was at Indiana— a nice result for the Seminoles, whose last loss came at Assembly Hall against the Hoosiers.
As far as KenPom rankings go, FSU dipped from No. 16, overall, to No. 17, and both the offensive and defensive ranks took a hit. The offense dropped significantly, from 34th to 41st, while the defense sunk from 19th to 23rd. The ’Noles also fell in the NCAA’s NET rankings, from No. 13 a week ago to No. 16.
As always, check back later, when we’ll update this piece with the new polls.
