XsandNoles: Breaking down FSU vs. Pitt

Can the Panther’s match quarters defense contain Jordan Travis?

The Florida State Seminoles are looking to have a bounce back win after this much needed bye week and they will have to do it against an ailing Pitt team.

The Pittsburgh Panthers started the season with high hopes. After starting 3-0 and beating a top 25 Louisville team they were feeling good about their squad. The defense was one of the best in the country and the offense was getting the job done.

They then lost the next 2 games by a combined 2 points. To add insult to injury they lost the linchpin of their offense: Senior quarterback Kenny Pickett.

They are now on a mission to stop a 4 game losing skid. If they want to beat the ‘Noles they will have to do it on the backs of their defense. This match quarters defense is the exact scheme that Harlon Barnett tried to run in his short stint in Tallahassee but it actually seems like the kids know their assignments. Lets take a look at how it works and what Florida State head coach Mike Norvell can try to do to beat it.
