It was a tough day for FSU sports on Friday, as the baseball team dropped their opening game and the softball ‘Noles dropped both of their games on Friday. No. 5 Florida State dropped game one to No. 1 as they were shutout in a 7-0 loss. Game two was much more competitive game for the ‘Noles, but fell on a walk-off after blowing a 6-2 lead in the late innings.
With three games left in the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite invitational, FSU can finish the tournament with a winning record, but they still have some tough competition ahead. The ‘Noles will take on No. 23 Northwestern at 2:30 on Saturday looking to get back on track. The Wildcats will come into Saturday’s matchup with a losing record through seven games on the season.
Saturday’s matchup will be broadcasted on ESPN3. Gwyn Rhodes will once again have live updates from Clearwater in the game thread below.
