No. 5 FSU softball game thread vs. Liberty: Sunday, 12:00 PM

Florida State still looking for first win in Clearwater

2018 NCAA Division I Women’s Softball Championship - Game 2

After dominating the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite invitational last season, FSU heads into their last day of the invitational without a win. So far the ‘Noles have suffered a 7-0 loss to No. 1 Washington, a walk-off loss to No. 13 Minnesota, and a 6-2 loss to No. 23 Northwestern.

In their last two games, FSU has given up a combined 11 runs from the fifth to seventh innings. Coming into the season, the pitching depth was the biggest question for this team and that’s been evident this weekend.

Florida State will have two more chances at W’s on Saturday as they take on Liberty at 12:00 PM and the defending champs No. 2 UCLA at 7:00 PM to cap off the tournament. The Flames come into Sunday’s game with a 1-8 record. UCLA is yet to lose a game this year as they sit at 9-0 on the season.

Gwyn Rhodes will have the coverage of the Liberty game in the game thread below.
