Florida State will shortly open up their midweek-slate with in-state opponent USF. FSU’s midweek schedule is always tough with the amount of baseball talent the state of Florida holds. USF is the first of six in-state opponents FSU’s midweek schedule boasts this season. The ‘Noles are 72-16 all time against the Bulls.
USF comes into Tuesday’s matchup with a 2-2 record. The Bulls have struggled in the box, scoring just three runs per game while hitting .181 as a team. The pitching has been stellar so far, as they’ve posted a 3.38 ERA and 0.95 WHIP while striking out 13.7 batters per nine.
Florida State’s offense reached base in 46.1% of their plate appearances this past weekend, while posting a 0.85 WHIP as a staff. Sophomore Jack Anderson will get his second career start on the hill. Anderson had a 1-2-3 inning with two K’s this past Saturday. The Tampa-native will face off against his hometown Bulls.
Tonight’s first pitch will be at 6:00 PM and aired on ACC Network Extra. I’ll have updates in the game thread below as well as on twitter.
