No. 6 Florida State basketball (24-4) has had an incredible season, and it continued Monday night with a 82-67 win over No. 11 Louisville, completing the season sweep over a Cardinals team who entering tonight led the ACC standings.
Afterward, TN’s basketball analyst Matt Minnick caught up with lead ESPN analyst, Jay Bilas, who played for Duke and has traveled the country covering college basketball. What came next was incredible.
When asked about the atmosphere at “The Tuck”, Bilas said that was as impressive an atmosphere as he’s seen anywhere. Minnick followed up asking if Bilas was serious, the analyst said he was “dead serious”.
MM probed even further: “Phog [Kansas], Cameron [Duke]?” He said, “Oh yeah. Anywhere.” Minnick had a chuckle and said, “This ol’ building from the 80s is all concrete and metal and the sound bounces right off.”
Bilas replied: “I just think it’s the people in it.”
FSU observers and Leonard Hamilton agreed:
Update: It’s no longer just the @NoleZoneFSU that has sold out for tomorrow night.

I've been going to games at The Tuck since 2000. You can trust me on this. This is the LOUDEST the Tucker Center has ever been that I've heard. #FSU

Hamilton on the @FSUTuckerCenter: “I can’t say enough about the crowd. There were times we couldn’t hear in our own huddle.” #FSU
