Florida State looks to keep their momentum rolling against Illinois State after topping the number one team in the nation last night. FSU snapped their 11-game losing streak to the Gators as Antonio Velez and Parker Messick shut down the gators with 14 K’s. Florida State now starts a four-game home stand, with the Redbirds tonight and Georgia Tech this weekend.

Bryce Hubbart will make his third start of the season for the ‘Noles. Hubbart has struggled so far with a 7.50 ERA and 2.00 WHIP. The freshman has all the potential to be a stud, but has to get ahead in the count and work down in the zone more often.

Jack Anderson will start for ISU, make sure you read that over, ISU’s Jack Anderson, not FSU’s. Illinois State’s Anderson is also a RHP, but a 6’6 junior out of Pulaski, Wisconsin. Through two starts and 6.2 innings, he’s posted a 6.75 ERA and a .240 average against.

Matheu Nelson will have the night off tonight as Doug Kirkland makes his second career start behind the plate.

First pitch will be at 6:00 PM as Florida State makes their debut on ACC Network. I’ll have live coverage in the game thread below as well as on my personal twitter.
