In case you fell asleep for 24 hours all collegiate athletics are officially canceled and not the 2020 version of canceled when everyone hates something for a week and then forget about it but officially canceled.
And if that wasn’t clear enough the ACC made it definitive:
Statement from the Atlantic Coast Conference:— The ACC (@theACC) March 12, 2020
“The Atlantic Coast Conference has suspended all athletic related activities including all competition, formal and organized practice, recruiting and participation in NCAA championships until further notice."
Leonard Hamilton and Lonni Alameda had some bittersweet words to say about the cancellations:
Talked to Leonard Hamilton a bit ago. Said decision to cancel NCAA tournament was not surprising.— Andrea Adelson (@aadelsonESPN) March 12, 2020
"There’s a lot of disappointment with us not being able to play, but in reality it’s small in proportion to the potential devastation or loss of life ...
One of the toughest team meetings I have ever been a part of.. thinking of the health of the world ... the passion for games, all seniors & the disbelief that this is all happening. I do think everything happens for a reason yet still feel sad for all involved.— Lonni Alameda (@Coach_Alameda) March 12, 2020
It’s unfortunate that we won’t see this Seminole team compete for a national title, but life comes first.
FSU recruiting is making in-roads in Louisiana and Alabama.
Another 2022 offensive tackle has been offered.
Although practice may be suspended the grind doesn’t stop for Tamorrion Terry:
