2022 athlete Azarayeh Thomas talks Florida State football offer

The Niceville recruit has ACC, SEC offers

Devon Ravine/Daily News

FSU is making an effort all across to establish roots across Florida, and its work with athletes in the panhandle has already been obvious.

Even though their time is divided into multiple avenues right now the staff is still putting out offers and last month they offered local athlete Azarayeh Thomas from Niceville.

Thomas is on the verge of being a big time athletic specimen based off of his film. He’s 6’3” 175 and plays both WR and DB at a very high level. He shows great awareness and playmaking ability and definitely has a bright future ahead of him.

Azarayeh tells me he really likes FSU and is “excited and blessed” to receive the offer. He is just starting a relationship with Coach Woodson and will be at FSU “very soon” for a visit. This will occur during the upcoming March 7th Junior Day.

Thomas tells me that he will be watching the Seminoles first spring practice as well as touring the campus. He is looking forward to seeing the culture and how the practices are organized.

Thomas’ older brother, Juanyeh Thomas is currently an ACC athlete himself as a DB at Georgia Tech. He said that’s been a big help, with his brother giving him sound advice on the recruiting process:

“We have talked a lot ... he has told me coaches can tell you anything during recruitment because that’s their job, so really dig deep and look for genuine relationships with coaches. So I would say I’m wiser and I have my brothers to support and help me along the way.”

Staying close to home is definitely a big deal for him and the staff will look to capitalize on that.
