Another preseason watch list was announced today, and it includes a familiar face for ‘Nole fans. Florida State Seminoles defensive tackle Marvin Wilson has been named to the 2020 Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list.
In his career to date at FSU, Wilson has played in 33 games (14 as a starter) and compiled 93 tackles, 13.5 for loss with 8.5 sacks, 7 quarterback hurries, 6 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He’s been named a preseason All-American, an All-ACC selection, and was a semi-finalist for the Bednarik Award last year.
Perhaps more importantly though, the team captain from Houston, TX, has made an enormous impact in the Tallahassee community. Wilson recently shared on his Instagram that he is helping lead an effort for the football team to create change within their community by registering to vote, organizing fundraisers to help send black children to college, and creating fundraising opportunities to assist low-income children in Tallahassee. It is his character, along with his talent, that has earned him this honor from the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation. The full watch list can be found here.
