John Butler is a 7’1 190 pound center from Greenville, SC.
The Class of 2021 prospect attends Christ Church Episcopal School and has a 98 rating (high 4-star) from the 247 Sports Composite List. The sites consider him the 57th best player in America (12th best center and 2nd best player in South Carolina). The only prospect ranked higher in The Palmetto State is current FSU basketball commit, Bryce McGowens.
Sunday evening, Butler released his top six schools (Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, South Carolina Gamecocks, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons), and also announced his plan to commit on Wednesday:

The question now is will Butler join his good friend McGowens in garnet and gold and become the second blue-chip prospect to choose Leonard Hamilton and Co. in the last week, following the announcement of Matthew Cleveland last Tuesday?
3 PM UPDATE:
Butler commits to Florida State, joining McGowens, Cleveland, and Naheem McLeod. With this addition, FSU has the No. 2 class in America for 2021.
Stay tuned to TN, as we’ll have more on Butler soon.
