Miami has won the last 3 matchups against FSU, a streak that came about after the Hurricanes ended a 7-game winning streak on a late touchdown in 2017.
Miami took on the UAB Blazers in its season opener, pulling apart late off the play of transfer quarterback D’Eriq King. King offers a similar (and more refined) threat and skill set that FSU faced in Jeff Sims, which will be a challenge for a Florida State defense looking to rebound.
“This football team does not have to be defined by [this loss],” head coach Mike Norvell said on Saturday night. They’ll be defined by how they they respond to this situation and how we move forward together as a program.”
Florida State will hope to bounce back after a heartbreaking home opener to Georgia Tech.
