The Triple Option: A look at how FSU transfers performed in the 2017 “national championship”

Looking at how UCF transfers performed vs. Auburn, plus analyzing DE Jermaine Johnson

On the first day of 2018, a couple of future Florida State Football transfers would play in the biggest game of their young careers: the National Championship.* The undefeated UCF Knights strolled into the brand new 1.6 billion dollar Mercedes-Stadium, smelled the smell of the fresh plastic turf, and showed the world what true SEC speed looked like as they ran Auburn off the field with their tails tucked between their legs.

This Auburn team was no joke either. They had the third-best defense according to SP+ and their head coach is likely the best offensive mind currently in the unemployment line.

In this edition of the Triple Option, the guys are going to take a closer look at that game. Transfer quarterback McKenzie Milton had a standout performance that began garnering national attention and defensive back Brandon Moore helped bolster a dominant UCF defensive effort.

In addition to that game, the guys look at some snaps defensive end transfer Jermaine Johnson took against the best offensive line in the country.

Now that our transfer series is wrapping up, let us know in the comments who you think is the most important transfer to turning around this team. Who will have the most immediate impact? Who will have the most by the time the season is over? Who are you most excited to see?
