Update 10:15 p.m.

Today we heard from Florida State head coach Mike Norvell, senior quarterback and UCF transfer McKenzie Milton, and senior defensive lineman and Georgia transfer Jermaine Johnson. During their first day in pads, Norvell said the practice was “spirited” and the “energy of the defensive side of the ball was impressive.”

He also talked about the development of four different freshman wide receivers, and how impressed he has already been with Johnson on the defensive side.

After that, Milton stepped to the podium for the first time this spring and gave an update on how is leg and body in general are feeling after a few days of camp.

“I feel really good out there. I don’t feel like any hiccups out there running around or anything like that. I feel comfortable seeing the field. Still trying to get to the point where the offense is second nature.”

Milton reiterated that his main concern right now is learning the FSU offense at a high level, and he also agreed with Norvell on the impressive start of spring from true freshman wideouts Malik McClain and Joshua Burrell.

Lastly, we heard from Johnson. He was excited tp be out there in full pads, and said that every offensive lineman he faced stood out to him today.

Day three of Florida State spring football coverage is here, and it is the final day of the first week of media availability. Yesterday, head coach Mike Norvell said Friday’s practice will be the first in pads, and he is excited. Norvell commented on Thursday’s practice:

“Was a good day. Tried to up the tempo in situations and forcing our guys to think fast and be able to react on the run. Defense did a nice job of chasing the ball today. We have to continue to get better...Too many dropped passes today,” said Norvell.

Today, we’ll be hearing Norvell and select players made available to the media. This is the last scheduled media session until Tuesday evening next week. You can follow along both in the comment section and on our Twitter, and in the meantime, add any questions you have in the comments and we will try to get to them.
