Update 9:45 p.m.
This evening we heard from Florida State head coach Mike Norvell, tight ends coach Chris Thomsen, and redshirt junior tight end Camm McDonald.
Norvell was also very complimentary of redshirt sophomore defensive back Brendan Gant, reminding us that he was operating in 2020 with extremely limited offseason time because of injury. He spoke a lot more about various defensive backs and tight ends.
Next we spoke with Thomsen, who was the first positional coach to address the media this spring. He talked about the depth of options they have at tight end, and more specifically, his thoughts on McDonald, freshman Jackson West, and redshirt freshman Markeston Douglas.
Our sole player interview today was McDonald. He was very upbeat and positive and talked about his own personal development as well as the entirety of the tight end room.

Florida State spring football is well under way, and the second week of practice is already here. Today we are scheduled to speak with head coach Mike Norvell, an assistant coach to be named, and a few players after practice.
Norvell gave his thoughts on a number of position units last week, including the offensive lineman in the first day with pads on.
“Pleased with the steps the offensive line has taken. Not just building up that mentality. You can talk about being physical all the time, but you have to go out and show it,” said the second-year head coach.
Last week we heard from an assortment of players, including quarterbacks McKenzie Milton (interview here) and Jordan Travis (interview here), defensive lineman Jermaine Johnson, and running back Jashaun Corbin.
You can follow along in the comments section where I’ll have live quotes from today’s press conference. We’ll also have updates on our Twitter.
