FSU just got a big surprise as top-100 four-star 2022 QB AJ Duffy has committed to Florida State. Long thought to be an Arizona State lean, the Seminoles had been pushing hard for Duffy since he transferred to IMG Academy from Rancho Verde HS in Moreno Valley, California.
Duffy’s recruitment really heated up once he started chatting with fellow FSU commitments: five-star Travis Hunter and four-star Nicco Marchiol but Duffy seemed to really fall in love with the campus during his spring game visit.
AJ Duffy ranks 76th nationally in 247’s Composite Rankings and sixth at his position and is one of the better QB prospects in the country. Duffy chose Florida State over offers from LSU, Auburn, Miami, Arkansas, and selected the ‘Noles from his final three of FSU, Arizona State, and Michigan State.
What makes Duffy a perfect fit for Norvell’s offense is his athleticism and lightning-quick release; perfect for the RPO-game that Norvell and OC Kenny Dillingham want to emphasize.

FSU’s 2022 class now ranks 10th nationally with eight commitments; four being of the blue-chip variety.
