Florida State Football Practice Report: 12/18

With an undefeated regular season and another ACC Championship behind them, the Seminoles turn their focus towards Auburn and the BCS National Championship.

The Florida State Seminoles are heading back to the BCS National Championship for the first time in over a decade, but it was business as usual on Wednesday as practice started back up.

The players were dressed in full pads.

Rumors had been floating around about eligibility issues, but every player was in their rightful place. Kelvin Benjamin and Mario Edwards Jr were fully dressed and participating, while Mario Pender was not in attendance.

Isaiah Jones was back and dressed out on Wednesday, as well.

Everyone seems to be healthy.

The defense was working on ways to combat the triple/read option that Auburn runs, putting emphasis on shedding blocks. Everyone has a job when going against an offense like Auburn's and the coaches stressed that on Wednesday. Eye discipline and film study seemed to be a constant chant.

Jimbo Fisher will speak with the media following Wednesday's practice and we'll bring you any updates.

Jimbo Fisher Update:

Fisher doesn't expect any eligibility issues heading into the National Championship.

Fisher also thinks Mario Pender is good - said he had a great semester but needs to go back and check the rules before he makes a return to the team.

He says they're less concerned with Auburm at this point and more focused on the basics. Wants to make sure FSU is doing everything right before they focus on someone else.

The team will be back practicing on the 26th and will do so through the New Year.
