Fredrick Jones, FSU Legacy, commits to Seminoles

Fredrick Jones, a defensive tackle out of Miami Central, has committed to Florida State. Jones is the defintion of an FSU legacy. His uncle is FSU great, linebacker Marvin Jones. His father, Fred Jones, also played at FSU along with his cousin James Colzie.

Jones is a 6'2, 270 pound defensive tackle. He is currently unranked by all the major recruiting sites. Jones camped at the Jimbo Fisher camp this last week and earned an offer based off his performance. There was some question about his commitment after his uncle, Marvin Jones, tweeted that his nephew had committed to Florida State. Credit to 247's Chris Nee for running a report this morning, confirming that Jones' commitment had been accepted by the FSU coaching staff. Jones will be playing for Miami Central this year after transferring.

Jones is Florida State's 21st commitment and 2nd Defensive tackle commitment (Demarcus Christmas, being the other). The Noles will look to take 2-3 defensive tackles this recruiting cycle.
