Dexter Wideman, a Defensive Tackle from Saluda (SC), has committed to Florida State. Wideman is a consensus four star prospect and top 15 at his position in the 2014 class. The Seminoles beat out South Carolina, Clemson, and LSU for his services.
I just want everyone one too no that I verbally commitTed too Florida state. #FSU

Wideman is a 6'4, 255 pound defensive tackle prospect who has recently slimmed down from 270 pounds. His commitment was a surprise, as in-state school South Carolina was considered the favorite. Jay Graham, who formerly coached at South Carolina and recruited the state as a Tennessee coach, was his primary recruiter. This is Graham's first pickup in the Carolinas for FSU. Wideman recently visited FSU for the Jimbo Fisher camp. Wideman's current size and athleticism could place him in many spots along the defensive line, including three and five-technique.
Wideman is Florida State's 22nd commitment and 3rd defensive tackle commitment in the 2014 class, joining Demarcus Christmas and Fredrick Jones. This likely wraps up defensive tackle recruiting for FSU.
