Jimbo Fisher names Jameis Winston starting quarterback.

In what pretty much the whole nation had already concluded, Jameis Winston was named the starter for the opening game of the 2013 Season.

With fall camp completed, the biggest question facing Florida State was that of who would be taking the snaps on opening day. Today, Jimbo Fisher finally put those questions to rest by announcing that Jameis Winston will be the starting quarterback for the Seminoles as they open up their 2013 season against Pittsburgh on September 2nd. Winston won the job over red-shirt sophomore Jacob Coker and red-shirt freshman Sean Maguire.

The hype surrounding the red-shirt freshman surged after Winston’s impressive spring game, which included a touchdown on his first pass of the game. Winston followed that touchdown up with several impressive drives. Members of the Media, fans and football "experts" all crowned Winston the starting quarterback since the Spring Game performance. But until today, despite clamoring from the fanbase, Jimbo had been reluctant to name a starter.

Many believe the real question facing the quarterback race has not been who will be the starter; but, rather, will the move lead to Coker's transfer.
