Florida State football practice report: 8/5

The Seminoles kicked off their second day of practice Tuesday afternoon inside the indoor practice facility.

The players returned to the practice fields Tuesday afternoon for their second day of practice. They seemed confident and ready to get back to work.

Markus Eligwe remained as a non-participant, while Nile Lawrence-Stample dressed but remained limited.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cleveland Browns had scouts at practice.

They spent the first 15 minutes working on specific special teams drills including the following: speed rushers worked on hand placement during punt blocks(get the ball, not the foot/leg), punt coverage squads jamming off the line and a zig-zag drill working to get gunners out of position.

The first team defense was running some five-man fronts with Mario Edwards dropping into coverage. The nickel packages included some beautiful blitz packages from Jalen Ramsey and Nate Andrews, and EJ Levenberry made his way onto the field during those.

Ones-vs.-ones showed Jalen Ramsey back deep with Tyler Hunter playing the star position, which is where a lot if people expected Ramsey to be. Hunter explained yesterday that the star is something they'd like him to play.

The media won't be speaking with Jimbo Fisher following Tuesday's practice.
